Sustainability performance management and CSRD compliance
The most urgent sustainability issue for many companies is understanding their performance on sustainability topics to ensure compliance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Together, we can achieve that through this process:
- Current situation: determine what is already being tracked and managed regarding sustainability.
- CSRD gap analysis: compare CSRD requirements with the current situation and determine the gap we need to fill.
- Create CSRD roadmap: determine how and by when the gaps on CSRD (ESRS) compliance and therefore sustainability performance management will be filled.
- Implement: write policies, set-up performance management processes, agree on governance structures, etc.
In the end, sustainability performance management on your material topics will be fully implemented in compliance with the CSRD.

Sustainability (ESG) strategy formation
To create a usable and practical strategy, the following process can be followed:
- Review the status quo: what are you already doing on sustainability?
- Benchmarking: discover which sustainability topics are relevant for your company based on your competitors, regulation (CSRD, EU taxonomy), media, etc.
- Materiality analysis: by interviewing internal and external stakeholders we can select those topics that are most material to your company.
- Define ambition levels: now that we know where we need to improve, we set targets to define by how much.
- Strategize: formulate ways to reach your targets and start performing.
Decarbonization strategy formation
The most pressing sustainability issue for many companies is decreasing their emissions, both to avoid high costs in carbon taxes and to show stakeholders they are serious about sustainability. To do that, I can formulate a decarbonization strategy for you by:
- Baselining: calculating or improving your emission baselining to see where the largest emissions lie.
- Target setting: setting or updating your decarbonization targets.
- Decarb pathway modelling: cost-based analysis of the decarbonization pathways you can follow to decrease your emissions.
- Decarb strategy formation: present findings and decide together which decarb pathways you will use in your strategy.

Creating a responsible supply chain (incl. scope 3 emissions)
The supply chain often is a black box where it is unclear how exactly resources end up at your doorstep. Creating transparency within your supply chain and knowing what goes wrong and what goes right in terms of sustainability is very important for improving your sustainability performance.
To create a responsible supply chain, following process can be used:
- Review: what is the size and complexity of your supply chain?
- Plan: determine how we will map your supply chain – do we need to use a tool or is it small enough to handle manually?
- Execute: reach out to your tier 1, 2, 3 suppliers and scan for sustainability risks.
- Assess performance: Calculate or determine performance on relevant topics (e.g. scope 3 emissions).
- Improve: work together with your supply chain to improve their performance.
