Sustainability (ESG) strategy formation
The first step in your sustainability journey is to formulate an overall sustainability strategy. To create a usable and practical strategy we follow a certain process:
- Review the status quo: what are you already doing on sustainability?
- Benchmarking: discover which sustainability topics are relevant for your company based on your competitors, regulation (CSRD, EU taxonomy), media, etc.
- Materiality analysis: by interviewing internal and external stakeholders we select those topics that are most material to your company.
- Define ambition levels: now that we know where we need to improve, we set targets to define by how much.
- Strategize: formulate ways to reach your targets and start performing.
Decarbonization strategy formation
The most pressing sustainability issue for many companies is decreasing their emissions, both to avoid high costs in carbon taxes and to show stakeholders they are serious about sustainability. To do that we can formulate a decarbonization strategy for you by:
- Baselining: calculating your emission baseline (if you have not done so)
- Target setting: setting or reviewing your decarbonization targets
- Prioritizing emissions: Finding where your most significant emissions lie.
- Decarb pathway modelling: cost-based analysis of the decarbonization pathways you can follow to decrease your emissions.
- Decarb strategy formation: we present our findings and together decide which decarb pathways you will use in your strategy.

Supply chain transparency
For many companies the supply chain is somewhat of a black box and it is unclear how exactly your resources end up at your doorstep. Creating transparency within your supply chain and knowing what goes wrong and what goes right in terms of sustainability is very important for improving your companies’ impact on the world . In some cases it is also a regulatory requirement to do so.
It is especially relevant for:
- Potential human rights violations
- At-risk minerals such as copper and lithium
- Calculating and decreasing scope 3 emissions
- Business continuity strategies
Sustainability tooling (software) selection and implementation
Selecting and implementing the right sustainability software tools is one of our key services. There is a whole range of software solutions out there and it is difficult to know which ones to select and how to use them in your as-is or to-be processes.
However, tools can significantly improve several areas of your sustainability workstreams and it can be very useful to implement them. Some key areas include:
- Emissions reporting (GHG, water, waste)
- Supply chain transparency (for example for scope 3 emissions)
- Decarbonization
- Sustainability initiatives tracking

Sustainability reporting support
After you have set a sustainability strategy it is important to accurately keep track of your performance. We can help you do this by building a sustainability reporting process and defining an honest external communication strategy. The process would be:
- Calculation logic: determine calculation logic for your KPIs by selecting a reporting standard and filling gaps where necessary.
- Process design: design a reporting process that includes submission, data validation, and approval steps.
- Reporting manual: create a reporting manual that your employees can use to correctly calculate KPIs. and train them.
- Auditability check: during a mock cycle we test the produced data.
Ethical external communication strategy
Once you start performing on sustainability you want to show your stakeholders and clients what you have achieved. It is, however, very important to communicate truthfully and authentically about your sustainability efforts.
Greenwashing is currently happening on a large scale which has made people skeptical of overly positive sustainability communication. We can help you define an ethical external communication strategy that highlights your achievements in an accurate, compelling, and real way.
Doing this right can really build your reputation, ensure loyalty from investors/clients and create a competitive advantage for your company.
