Tipping Point can help your firm set-up the sustainability services that your clients need
The sustainability services market is already large and growing. However, without technical sustainability knowledge it can be difficult to determine how your firm can help clients in their sustainability journey. I can provide that technical knowledge and help you tap into the market.
I’ve been with Deloitte’s sustainability team since its earliest days and have seen what clients need and what works. I can help you leverage your firm’s strengths and determine where you should play in the sustainability market.

Topics for technical knowledge transfer:
Technical processes
Within sustainability management there are many technical processes that are relatively new but do require a lot of knowledge and brainpower to get right. I can help you properly understand these processes, some important ones are:
- Decarbonization: baselining, forecasting, decarbonization strategy formation
- Market analysis for sustainable technologies (incl. policy expectations)
- Materiality analysis
- Supply chain transparency creation

Regulatory developments (and their implications)
Understanding the relevant European laws and regulations coming your client’s way is central to sustainability work. They often are the driving force behind many companies’ efforts and your client needs support to comply with them. The following regulations are especially important to understand:
- EU Green Deal – covers many different regulations, such as:
- Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)
- EU taxonomy
- EU ETS and Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism
- Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)
Sustainability tooling (software) selection and implementation
Selecting and implementing the right sustainability software tools to allow for efficient reporting and other processes is difficult for clients. There is a whole range of software solutions out there and it is hard to know which ones to select and how to use them in client’s current and future processes.
Organizations need help with selecting and implementing these, but you need to understand how the tools work and which processes they facilitate to give good recommendations.

Sustainability reporting and CSRD compliance
After clients have set a sustainability strategy they need to accurately keep track of their performance. There are many different reporting standards clients follow, there are many different sectoral and regional regulatory requirements and there are not many people with experience in this field. In short, it is very complicated and clients often need help to get this right.
In addition, it is also central to develop improvement strategies because without a baseline it is hard to know where your biggest emissions and impacts lie. As such, even if you do not want to help clients with reporting, you need to understand it to offer strategic advice.
